GAME DAY #2

AND YES, HE WAS OUT!!
AND, NO, HE WAS NOT OUT!!

Chris & Shannon enjoying the game

And, this is how Maddie enjoys the game!

Scoring on a base hit.

Celebrating the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.  Way to go guys!  One of the most exciting games I have seen! They came from behind 7-0 and won 12-11!  A great example of not giving up!!

GAME DAY!

Isn't she lovely?

It just so happened that each coaches boy hit a home run.  These are the proud pappa's and their boys.
Lunch in the parking lot!

An ice cream break between games.  Just trying to keep these girls happy!
Lookin good, Fox

Our team seems to be the only ones to go and clap for each teams fans after the game.  It's a great display of sportsmanship and people seem to be taking note of it.  We are sure proud of our boys.

Patty is always busy fixing Maddies nails.
It's so fun to play at night under the lights.

The first day we won 2 and lost the last one.  The boys did great!

COOPERSTOWN DREAMS PARK - OPENING CEREMONIES

Maddie sleeping at the top of the bleachers. I guess she's not really impressed!
Over a thousand boys and their coaches - it was quite a sight to see.
The parade of athletes as they come into the stadium.  95 teams in all.  Our boys have the orange banner.

There's "my boy"
3 sky divers jumped from a plane over the stadium and delivered the game balls.  It was spectacular!

This is Lou, the founder of Dreams Park

Tyler, Justin, Matt later in the evening watching the home run derby.

Looking out over the ball field at the end of a wonderful day.  It is hard to explain the atmosphere here ... its like nothing else we have experienced.  It's as if the boys live in a baseball city of thier own and we just come to visit them and watch them perform.  A strange feeling, really, to leave the boys there to eat, sleep and play ball.  Maddie has a hard time understanding why daddy and "her boy" don't come home.

IRENE COMES TO TOWN

The storm was a bit exciting - only really troubling when we had gone to get some groceries at a nearby town and the road to come home was closed due to flooding.  Thank goodness for the GPS!  We did have to go over one flooded road to get back to the house but we waited for a truck to go in front of us to make sure it wasnt too deep.  That was a bit much for me.  We stayed in the rest of the day and made a big stew dinner.  Chris Martin had gone and picked up Chris, and the boys so they hung out with us for the day.  All the games were cancelled on Monday as the storm blew through.  Only 4,000 people had power left in our town and thankfully we were one of them.  The cable and internet were out until last night but otherwise all was well.

I took some random pictures as we drove around. It's beautiful country where we are.  Nothing like being in the city.

This is "our house"
This is looking out the upstairs to the back

Watching movies and hangin out!

The kids ran around the house playing tag

The boys went out to catch crickets in the rain

It turned out to be fun day despite the fact that we came here to play baseball and we've had no baseball yet!  There's lot to come .....
